Registering for a course’s waiting list

All waiting lists for courses are organized through the campus-wide online system tied to class registration in myUCA. This system allocates seats in courses on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to check course availability and their UCA email frequently if they want to register for a particular class.

Follow these steps to add yourself to a course's waiting list.

  1. Go to myUCA.
  2. Click the task Register for Classes. You can either use the search bar to find it, or look for this task under the Essentials menu in the Current Students area.
  3. Select the academic term from the list, and then click Submit.
  4. Type the CRN(s) for the desired course(s). Click Submit Changes.
  5. If the course you have entered is closed, you will see a message in that course's row indicating so. In the Action drop-down menu, select Waitlisted. You will only see the Waitlisted option if the CRN has enabled the waiting list seats and if there are seats available on the waiting list. The waitlisted seats are also setup with a limited number of seats.
  6. To complete the process, click Submit Changes.

Check your email frequently to see if a seat opens for your chosen course. If a seat opens up, you will receive an email and you will have 24 hours to update your Waitlisted seat to a Web Registered seat. To make the update, follow the steps above, and under the Action drop-down menu, select Web Registered.
