Wireless Device Registration

Some wireless devices such as gaming consoles, wireless printers, Smart TVs, and streaming devices (Apple TV, etc.), cannot authenticate with UCA’s wireless network using a username and password. For these devices, you will need to complete the Wireless Device Registration form to register the device with the wireless network. After reviewing the list of Banned & Permitted Devices, click the green 'Register Device' button to get started.

NOTE: This form is not for standard wireless devices like mobile phones, tablets, or laptops. To connect these devices to the wireless network manually, follow the steps in the article Connecting to UCA’s wireless network.

It may take up to three days to process the information and register your device. IT will notify you by email when your device is registered. All communication from IT will be through your UCA email address.

IMPORTANT: To aid in verifying the MAC address, please make at least one attempt to join the UCAWIRELESS network. This attempt will fail, but will record the MAC address for later lookup.

The following information is requested on the registration form:

  • Name – Enter the name of the owner or primary user of the device.
  • I am a… – Choose whether you are a UCA student, faculty/staff member, or a guest.
  • Phone Number – Include the best contact number in the event additional information is required.
  • Location – Choose your campus building location from the drop-down list.
  • Room Number – Enter the room number where the device will be primarily located.
  • Device Manufacturer/Brand and Model – Enter the manufacturer and model of the device. For example, Sony PlayStation 4.
  • Description of Device – Include a brief description of the device. For example, 'game console' or 'smart TV'
  • Wireless MAC Address of Device – The MAC address (also called the “wireless address” or the “WiFi address”) is often listed in your device’s settings menu. For help in finding your device’s MAC address, call the IT Help Desk, or refer to your device manufacturer’s support website.
