To control the settings for opening PDFs with Google Chrome, follow these steps.
- Click the Chrome Settings button (
) in the upper-right corner of the browser, and then click Settings. The Settings page will open in a new tab.
- At the bottom of the page, click Advanced.
- In the Privacy and security section, click Content settings.

- Scroll all the way down to bottom to PDF Documents.

- Choose the desired setting for the switch Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome:
- Select the switch to have PDFs open with your computer's default PDF opener (such as Adobe Reader).
- Deselect the switch to have PDFs open within Google Chrome.
NOTE: PDFs have limited interactivity in Google Chrome; you may not be able to click links, view videos, or listen to sounds. To use all the interactive features of PDFs, open these files with Adobe Reader.
