As a Coordinator

As a coordinator, when you click on any deep link from within D2L Brightspace, you will be brought directly to the base content section of the Top Hat multi-section course. You can choose which section to navigate to from the Section Manager tab.

As an Instructor

As an instructor teaching multiple sections of a course, when you click on a deep link from within D2L Brightspace, a popup modal will open in a new tab to determine which section you wish to be brought to.

If you wish to switch between sections at any time, you can use the newly opened tab (if you left it open) to continue switching between the sections you teach.

Grades are synced automatically for deep-linked content, just as with standalone courses.

Note the following regarding MSM courses:

  • Deep links can only be created by course coordinators (a Top Hat user who has the Course Coordinator role).
  • A single deep link can be created in the LMS and shared across all MSM sections.
