Disabling Private Wi-Fi Addressing

iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch:


 

  1. Open the Settings app, then tap Wi-Fi.

  2. Tap the information button next to a network.Information button used by iPhone to show more or additional information may be found by clicking the image.

  3. Tap to turn Private Address on or off. If your device joined the network without using a private address, a privacy warning explains why. 





 

Apple Watch

 

  1. Open the Settings app, then tap Wi-Fi.

  2. Tap the name of the network you joined. If you haven’t joined the network yet, swipe left on its name and tap more.

  3. Tap to turn Private Address on or off. 



 

                    


 

Google Pixel

 

  1. Open the Settings app and select Network and Internet.

  2. Select Wi-Fi. 

  3. Connect to the Wireless network in your area.

  4. Tap the gear icon next to the current connection.

  5. Select Advanced.

  6. Select Privacy and select “Use device MAC.”

 

Samsung Galaxy

 

  1. Navigate to “Settings.”

  2. Select “Connections” and then Wi-Fi.

  3. Tap the gear-shaped icon next to “UCAWIRELESS.”

  4. Select “Advanced.”

  5. Tap on “MAC Address Type” and select “Phone MAC” or “Device MAC.”

 

Windows

 

  1. In Settings, click on the “Network & internet” tab.

 

 

  1. Select the “Wi-Fi” tab.

 

 

  1. Turn OFF “Random hardware addresses.”
