Duo Security—Token Approve
UCA is using Duo for multi-factor authentication (MFA) to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts. Faculty, staff, and students are required to use MFA when accessing specific online services.
You must request a hardware token from IT using the Request Duo Token service form. Once you have the token in hand, you will authenticate using the following steps:
- Login to your UCA account (my.uca.edu)
- Click the task card for the Duo-protected service you want to access. (Email—Students, Banner Self-Service, Medicat, eAccounts, My Housing (StarRez), etc.)
- A Duo prompt will display (see image 1).
- Click the Enter a Passcode button.
- Press the button on your hardware token to generate a new passcode (see image 2).
- Type the displayed passcode in the text box and click Log in.
Note: Tokens can get “out of sync” if the button is pressed too many times in a row and the generated passcodes aren’t used for login. Contact the IT Help Desk if your token stops working.
