Duo Security—Smartphone Approve
UCA is using Duo for multi-factor authentication (MFA) to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts. Faculty, staff, and students are required to use MFA when accessing specific online services.
After enrolling with Duo and installing the Duo Mobile App, you’ll see the Duo Prompt the next time you access a protected application at UCA. Follow the steps below to authenticate using your smartphone:
1. Login to your UCA account (my.uca.edu).
2. Click the task card for the Duo-protected service you want to access. (Email—Students, Banner Self-Service, Medicat, eAccounts, My Housing (StarRez), etc.)
3. A Duo prompt will display (see image 1).
4. Click Send Me a Push.
5. The Duo Mobile App will push a login request to your phone.*
Review the request and tap Approve to log in.

*If you selected to allow notifications during the installation of the Duo Mobile App, you can respond to Duo Push requests from the lock screen or banner notification itself. Perform a long press on the notification to reveal the Approve or Deny actions (see image 2).
