When a webcam is showing your image upside down, it is typically due to webcam utility software being installed on your computer. Examples are Cyberlink YouCam, HP Webcam Splitter, ThinkVantage Virtual Camera, FA Virtual Cam, SplitCam Video Filter, and ArcSoft Webcam Sharing Manager.
Disabling this software before starting your exam may help. In many cases, students need to uninstall the software entirely for their webcam and browser to work properly. To do this, navigate to the Windows Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program and select the appropriate webcam utility.
Another cause of an upside down image is a device driver that is incompatible with your computer's operating system. Updating or changing the driver is the best solution. Before you start changing the drivers for your webcam, make sure that the drivers are actually the issue.
You should:
1) Remove or disable any 3rd party webcam utilities.
2) If the problem persists after step 1, look into the settings for your camera to see if there is an inversion or image flipping option. For Windows users, this is usually located in the Control Panel.
3) If neither of the above options helps resolve the issue, then you probably need to change the drivers.
