Duo Security—SMS Approve

UCA is using Duo for multi-factor authentication (MFA) to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts. Faculty, staff, and students are required to use MFA when accessing specific online services.

After enrolling with Duo using the Other (and cell phones) option, you will authenticate by SMS passcode. To have Duo text you a passcode, follow these steps:

1. Login to your UCA account (my.uca.edu)
2. Click the task card for the Duo-protected service you want to access. (Email—Students, Banner Self-Service, Medicat, eAccounts, My Housing (StarRez), etc.)
3. A Duo prompt will display (see image 1).
4. Click the Enter a Passcode button and then click Text me new code.
5. The Duo prompt will change to indicate the passcode was sent to your phone.
6. Enter the passcode into the text box on the Duo prompt and click Log in.
