For troubleshooting purposes, it is often necessary to know the computer name and/or serial number of the workstation having issues. Following these steps to determine the computer name.

To find your computer name using either Windows 10 or a Mac, following the instructions below.

Windows 11

Right-click the Start menu and then left-click System.

The computer name is listed as 'Device name' in the Device specifications section.

 

Mac

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences

Choose Sharing.

The computer name for your Mac appears at the top of Sharing preferences.
